TRAVEL DOCUMENTS NEEDED AT VAN WORMER RESORTS
You will be required to provide proof of citizenship to enter Mexico. Passport is required for entry and for re-entry into the United States.
 
Print two copies of the page in your passport, which includes your picture, passport number, issue and expiration date. Keep one copy in your wallet or pocket and one in your luggage.  This can be very helpful entering and leaving the country if your passport is lost.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR VAN WORMER RESORTS

The Van Wormer family owns and operates three beautiful properties in Baja, Mexico's East Cape. Only a fifty-minute drive from the Los Cabos airport (SJD) you'll find Punta Colorada, Playa Del Sol, and Palmas de Cortez. Each of these hotels has unique attributes, but all three are professionally run, service-oriented jewels of the Baja. They share a common fleet of dozens of cruisers, super pangas, and even a few larger super cruisers. We can custom fit a Mexico fishing adventure to suit your needs. Baja Mexico and the Sea of Cortez is one of top marlin fisheries on the planet at a price that leaves many of the others wondering "how can they do it?". You'll be pleasantly surprised at the value. PUNTA COLORADA
The most remote of the three properties, Punta Colorada is where we send our most hard-core anglers. They do have pool and excellent scenery, but they are very remote compared to the others. It's a thirty minute drive to any extracurricular activities for non-anglers.

PALMAS DE CORTEZ
Definitely the favored hotel for the non-angling spouses. Pristine beach location, an infinity pool, fine dining, and the convenience of being the closest of the three to the shopping in Los Barrilles, make Palmas de Cortez tops with the ladies. 

PLAYA DEL SOL
Playa del Sol sits on the beach in Los Barrilles and is slightly less expensive than Palmas de Cortez. The two properties sit right next to each other. All three have similar rooms.

FLEET INFORMATION FOR VAN WORMER RESORTSVan Wormer resorts has a huge fleet. All the boats are great. We have some favorites, should you choose to book with Rod and Reel Adventures. But every boat is equipped with excellent tackle, great motors, all safety items, and knowledgeable captains and crew to make your Baja fishing adventure the best it can be.

FISHING INFORMATION FOR VAN WORMER RESORT
The Sea of Cortez, one of the world's most rich and diverse marine environments, is one of the few locales that yield marlin year-round. Besides being a prime spring spawning area for striped marlin up to 200 pounds, Baja's East Cape is a favored location to achieve bill fishing's Grand Slam, adding blue and black marlin (200-1000 pounds) and Pacific sailfish (80-150 pounds) to the mix.

Catch-and-release is strongly encouraged for all billfish. These apex predators comprise the pinnacle of a fragile marine eco-system. Conversely, plentiful species like tuna and dorado (mahi-mahi) reproduce in the millions and make excellent table fare. These pelagic (open ocean) species roam the 1500-7500-foot depths close to shore here. Numerous inshore species add to the incredible variety of marine life in the Sea of Cortez.The resorts provide fillet and freezer services, and a smokehouse is available. Your fishing manager will coordinate your charter, arrange lunches and beverages, assist you at dockside, and process your catch.

Our fleet, the East Cape's largest and newest, comes fully equipped with all rods, reels, tackle, and our professional captains enjoy teaching beginner and novice saltwater anglers. Angling presentations include live bait (available daily from bait skiffs), trolled lures, and fly-casting.
