Baja Mexico has legendary offshore saltwater fishing opportunities at unbelievable values. I call this the best fishing value on the planet. There are places in Baja where you can fish, stay, and eat for less money than many places in the US. Most of the areas are very civilized and anything you forget can be purchased onsite in the hotel gift shop. They accept American dollars and electrical is almost all 110.

FISHING GEAR FOR BAJA MEXICO FISHING

The hotels in Baja are all saltwater and they provide all the tackle you'll need for the bigger species, but bring along your light tackle or fly gear if you want to go after roosterfish along the beaches.

Here is a list of some light tackle gear you may want to consider bringing along with you:

9-10 Weight Flyrod
Fly reel with 150 yards of 30# dacron backing and both a floating and at least one sink-tip flyline for the nine or ten weight.

Medium action spinning rod and reel with 150-200 yards of 16#-20# monofilament fishing line.

The guides at the Baja hotels will have very few flies. It's good to have a box or two of your own. There are specialized guides for flyfishing if you wish.
