WELCOME

June is here! Summer is not! In the Northwest we have rivers at flood stage and snowpacks at near record levels. While the rest of the country battles heat, humidity, tornadoes, and other typical start of summer weather, we are mild, wet, and somewhat stir crazy.

However, this is the beginning of the Alaska fishing season. They always have unpredictable weather, but very predictable fishing. The salmon and halibut lodges are doing much better than last year in terms of bookings, and the fish runs are expected to be as excellent as always! If you are dreaming of Alaska - you need to drop me an email!

June is also one of the best months for flyfishing the Yucatan of Mexico and Belize. The water has warmed, the rains aren't here yet, and the tides are getting bigger as we move toward summer moon phases. If you can stand the heat, the best time to fish for permit is the summer months. And I had a personal record 17 fish tarpon day in Campeche one June a few years back. It is crazy good!

Don't forget - if you are interested in fishing tips, techniques, personal stories, and more detailed information on fishing around the planet, please check out the blog - http://travelandfishtheworld.blogspot.com.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE BLOG - I am interested in any fishing travel information or stories or photos that you all have. I will gladly blog about them to the world and give you full credit. Please email me anything you think might be blog-worthy and I'll publish it.

HOSTED TRIPS
We are planning our FIFTH Campeche Baby Tarpon fiesta for November of this year. We have tentative dates of November 8-13 and November 13-18. Price is $2050 pp double occupancy for anglers, $1025 pp for non anglers. This fishing trip is one of my absolute favorites! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO ON CAMPECHE

I'm also considering hosted trips to ANYWHERE WARM for the winter season 2011/2012. So if you have a group looking to escape the winter cold and want a host (NO CHARGE), let me know. I'd love to show you some of my favorite warm weather fishing destinations! Think Costa Rica, Argentina, Belize, Chile, Brazil...
