FIRST PERSON INFORMATION AT NOMADS OF THE SEAS
First impressions are lasting...unless each
subsequent impression leaves you in a state of bewilderment that goes
beyond expectation. My first impression of Nomads was being greeted
with a smile at the Santiago airport. Then it was a cup of fabulous
espresso in the airport cafe with my long time friend Pablo Negri. All
I can say is that the impressions kept coming for five days and none
was below excellent. This is luxury and attention to the detail like no
other destination I have seen. Most operators attempt to control all
the things
that can be controlled. Nomads also attempts to control the
uncontrollable.
My trip here in December of 2006 took over the top spot on my all time
favorites for a number of reasons. First and foremost is the ability to
fish lakes and streams that are almost untouched. These trout willingly
take flies even in the early season. I can just imagine what the
fishing is like in the prime months of January through March. This is
"new frontier" fishing with five star luxury surrounding you.
GENERAL INFO FOR NOMADS OF THE SEAS
Nomads of the Seas is a new concept that revolves around the
Chilean Patagonia with a revolutionary approach to fly fishing, ecotourism and
cruises.
Our company has developed a unique and trustworthy new venture that
assures highly demanding clients willing to visit the Chilean Patagonia,
unparalleled levels of personalized and professional service in an area honored
by many as the world ultimate fly fishing and ecotourism destination.
We have carefully designed one-week extreme fly fishing adventures
and ecotourism expedition programs for a very limited amount of guests, all
of which
can securely fulfill their highest expectations while traveling aboard
our Mother Ship specifically designed for the area. This ship
accommodates a maximum of
18 fishing guests and 10 non-fishing guests for each trip.
With the capability of self-carrying one of the most spectacular
air-water transportation systems known to date, we cover de deepest
areas of Patagonia by
air, land and water.
Our sailing journey through gentle fjords and channels in which
ancient native aborigines and famous explorers navigated in the past, provides
delightful and untouched natural parks and reserves, unique and spectacular
flora and fauna, as well as breathtaking views of the Andes Mountain Range,
which here softly plunge into the Pacific Ocean. Everyday our guests wake up in
a spectacular new setting, having all the needed flexibility to deal with
constantly changing weather and fishing conditions.
Each exploratory fly-fishing and ecotourism daily journey grants clients with
the very best professional guided service and safety-precaution standards.
Delicious Chilean gourmet cuisine and wines, and our on board spa with
Thalasoterapy treatments gives total comfort to the guests, while heading for
striking virgin waters packed with trophy brown, rainbow and brook trout, as
well as silver and king salmon, and territories that provides dazzling
biodiversity and scenery.
We have designed special outings for our non-fishing guests:
sighting wide variety of dolphins and elusive giant whales in our specialized
rigid inflatable boats, bird watching, spotting and identifying native and
endemic flora and fauna throughout the wilderness. In fact, memorable
experiences interacting with biodiversity, wild nature, glaciers, hot springs,
geography and history are highlights of this one-on-a-lifetime experience. It is
not by chance that Charles Darwin and Captain Fitz Roy wrote long notes
regarding the beauty and uniqueness of this part of the world in their logs. Our
guests will also have all our on board activities such as our daily wine tasting
program, gourmet regional cuisine, Thalasotherapy and Spa, specialized lectures and more.
FISHINIG INFORMATION AT NOMADS OF THE SEAS
How many times have you thought of fishing in virgin and unexplored lakes and
rivers? This is your chance to make that happen, and become one with some of the
most amazing landscapes you will ever see in your lifespan.
Nomads
has prepared a flyfishing adventure for all the unconditional lovers of fishing and nature
who are willing to experience an unforgettable and wild journey.
Our one week program departs every Saturday, from the second fortnight of October thru April.
The Chilean Patagonia offers unique for our guests to make this
dream come true. Imagine yourself sailing through the world's most
beautiful fjords, rivers and lakes; and fishing for brown trout, brook
trout, rainbows, salmon, steelhead and a few other species too. All of
this in a region with the best fishing conditions in the entire world.
This is a region where multiple streams, creeks, rivers, lagoons and
lakes,
and endless and unexplored fishing spots can be discovered; and where
most trout
and salmon have never seen an artificial fly.
This is a plentiful area of blending glaciers, snowcapped peaks,
summits and
volcanoes of the southern Andes with luxuriant cold jungle forests,
marvelous
pure streams, creeks, rivers, lagoons and lakes among natural parks,
reserves
and monuments.
After being introduced in Chile in the late 19th century, salmonids found
exceptional conditions to settle and reproduce over time in the grandeur of the
infinite, pristine and fertile streams, rivers, lagoons and lakes of this sector
of Chile. Nowadays, resident, coastal and anadromous varieties of Rainbow and
Brown Trout, along with Brook Trout, attain abundance in these waters and a size
that is difficult for their congeners in the northern hemisphere to beat. The
same occurs with Silver and King Salmon and occasionally with Atlantic Salmon.
The development of all these salmonids is not only confined to continental
waters, but they also live in those estuaries, freshets and river mouths of
infinite fjords, inlets and channels that make up this South Pacific Ocean. Some
native species like the Robalo, Bonito and Sierra (endemic Barracuda type),
which can offer large challenges for fly-fishing, add value to the infinite
spectrum of possibilities in the area.
