GENERAL INFORMATION FOR YAKUTAT LODGE
The Fannings have run one of Alaska's premier wilderness outfitting
businesses for over two decades, sharing hunting and fishing
experiences throughout Alaska with friends & clients from around
the world. Ken, a former Alaskan state legislator, is a full time
hunting and fishing guide and outfitter.
Long time Alaskan residents, intimately
familiar with the special needs & desires of visitors to the North
Country, they have personally chosen Yakutat as the finest Alaskan
travel destination with the most affordable & greatest variety of
wilderness hunting, fishing & spectacular Alaskan scenery.
All
of their guided trips are complete with the finest personal guide
service available. Large evening seafood banquets including fruits of
the days harvest of salmon or halibut, clams, fresh shrimp and
Dungeness crab are a daily fare.
All
guests get special "flight-seeing trips" through Russel Fjord and up to
Hubbard Glacier. The scenery is truly breathtaking. They utilize the
airplanes, cabin cruiser, vehicles and boats daily to put you in the
best fishing spots. Frequently we'll fly guests out to one of several
tent camps to take advantage of good fishin'and allow for true
wilderness experiences.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES AT YAKUTAT LODGE
The summer activities are endlessly captivating and include
a variety of options. Our new Naturalist and Kayaking programs offer a
close touch with the incredibly beautiful environments around Yakutat.
Hiking areas, trails and miles of unpopulated beach offer solitude and
frequently yield beachcombing treasures. Wildlife viewing, photography
and captivating scenery are commonplace. Walk where others
haven't....ever! Touch glacier ice. Feel Alaska in all its rugged
beauty.
SEASON AT YAKUTAT LODGE
From April 1 - May 30, and again in November, Yakutat's
Situk River hosts the finest wild steelhead run anywhere in the world.
The Situk River, near Yakutat, hosts the largest wild-stock Steelhead
population in Alaska. The pristine crystal-clear river provides a most
spectacular and beautiful arena for this simultaneously bountiful and
elusive quarry. Situk River Steelhead average an honest 10 to 12 pounds
of explosive fury!
Alaska's best kept fishing secret is Yakutat Bay's tremendous King
Salmon fishing in April, May and June. Our exceptional skippers and
well-equipped vessels will put you into the action. Mooching and
trolling for feeders or river-bound Kings, yields silvery dynamos from
15 to 60 pounds. Frequently in the spring, limits of Kings and Halibut
can be taken the same day!
HOW TO GET TO YAKUTAT LODGE
You'll fly into Yakutat, Alaska on Alaska Airlines. The
lodge is a five minute walk from the airport. Check in and you are off
for your adventures!!
2010 RATES AT YAKUTAT LODGE
A Seven Day, Six Night adventure is $2999 per person double occupancy.
A Five Day, Four Night adventure is $2419 per person double occupancy.
All package prices are $75 more per person from August 15 thru September 30.
WHAT'S INCLUDED AT YAKUTAT LODGE
All of our deluxe fully guided trips are complete with the
finest personal guide service available each day of your trip. Large
evening seafood banquets, including fruits of the days' harvest of
salmon or halibut, clams, fresh shrimp and Dungeness crab are daily
fare. A full service menu is also available and included in your trip.
All guests get special "flight-seeing" trips through Russell Fjord and
up to the Hubbard Glacier. The scenery is truly breathtaking. We
utilize the airplanes, charter vessels, jet sled, drift boats and
vehicles to put you in the best fishin' spots daily. Our guides and
skippers are simply the finest professionals available. Frequently
we'll fly guests out to one of several tent camps to take advantage of
the good fishing and to allow for a true wilderness experience. Even
your fishing license is included in this all-inclusive trip! Also with
these packages, all of your fish are filleted, packaged, frozen and
prepared for shipment home. We will also prepare any fish trophies for
shipment to your favorite taxidermist. Guided trips include one box of
vacuum packaged fish.
